The JModelica.org FMI import interface is written in Python and offers a complete mapping of the FMI C API. JModelica.org also offers a set of Pythonic convenience methods for interacting with the model in an object-oriented manner. In addition, a connection to the simulation environment Assimulo which is part of JModelica.org is offered to JModelica.org supports several di erent export formats but these formats was designed for export to speci c tools and a more generic alternative is needed. A standardized format for representation of Modelica models would provide such a generic solution. The need for this can be seen in the JModelica.org system, where the current import into I would like to use Jupyter Notebook for editing JModelica python scripts; however after installing, the Jupyter notebook cannot locate key libraries, such as pymodelica. Here is the process I followed to install Jupyter Notebook for JModelica Version 2.1: In the IPython terminal: !pip install jupyter open source tool JModelica.org2, and some others. Al-though the FMI interface is vendor neutral, the implemen-tations of import of the FMU realized by the above men-tioned simulator tools are not. Either the import of FMU is implemented on the basis of some specific program-ming language [1], Python in this case, or the Modelica I use the Jmodelica for optimizing the model of building cooling system by use of Modelica Buildings library.
